+ What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine combines modern science with traditional and natural medicine to get to the root of the disease and stimulate the body's innate ability to heal itself. In other words, we balance and support your body and help give it the right environment for it to thrive. Naturopathic Physicians have a variety of tools, using evidence-based medicine to be able to safely and effectively treat the underlying causes of disease.

+ How are Naturopthic Doctor's trained?

Licensed Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are formally trained in the medical sciences, educated at a doctorate-level (minimum 4 years post-grad), and are legally primary-care physicians. NDs in British Columbia have a large scope of practice (see My services here), which is strictly regulated by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC)

+ Does insurance cover Naturopathic services?

Many extended benefits will cover Naturopathic services. Each plan is different, so please contact your provider to check your coverage. Most Naturopathic treatments are not covered under MSP.

+ Are lab tests/supplements covered by insurance?

It depends on your coverage. In my experience, many companies will cover lab tests, most will not cover supplements. Contact your provider for the most accurate information.
